Healing spicy barley soup

This is a recipe to not only boost B vitamins which are depleted when stressed but also has immunity boosting garlic, healing ginger, chilli to boost the metabolic rate and turmeric to support memory. This soup is literally bursting with nutrients to heal and nourish your body. This recipe serves 4.

Note: barley is not gluten free (replace with lentils or omit the barley for a gluten free option)

Instructions
  1. Fry off the chilli, garlic, ginger in a medium sized pan
  2. Add turmeric and seasoning
  3. Cook for a few mminutes
  4. Add all the rest of the ingredients with boiling water – sufficient to double over the ingredients
  5. Continue to add water and simmer until barley is soft (It is your choice how much liquid you prefer, less water results in a thicker soup).
  6. Cook for approximately 30-40 minutes.
