“I realise that my bounce back ability is a far more important measurement of my positivity and growth than anything else.”
It has taken me years to realise that it is just not normal to feel positive all the time, Its is something I have certainly chased. We want to feel joy and happiness every moment and there is absolutely nothing wrong in that, we judge others and think that they look happy every time we encounter them and so it must be achievable… The truth as I have found it, is that we could not even recognise happiness without a contrast, it would not even be a thing.
In his book conversations with God, Neale Donald Walsch discusses the experience of pure light and there being nothing else, the person in his story cries out to god to give him darkness so that he can appreciate the light. This really resonated with me and changed my perception. I realised that my bounce back ability was a far more important measurement of my positivity and growth than anything else. This is empowering because it means that I can accept when I am feeling pain, fear or frustration, and then implement something to improve my vibration and get me back in a good state of mind.
And so, if you are going through something big or a past conditioning/story you have unconsciously held causes you to feel fear or frustration. Try not to beat yourself up about letting it get to you. Accept your feelings as the normal process of human experience, and think about what you can do or think about to move back into gratitude and appreciation.
Many of my friends would probably put me into the category of being a healthy and positive person, and I truly am. Butt I like everyone have experienced my fair share of darkness and still have my own human experiences and past conditioning to deal with. For example, I am working on recovering from a work and people pleasing addiction daily.
Being an empath, I love to make people happy and to give. This can be a blessing and a curse as you fellow empaths reading this will understand. We can give our energy, and I often go and go, give and give until I hit exhaustion point. However, I recognise this as being my conditioning and I now focus on allowing things to happen rather than pushing, and although I can still work to exhaustion, I recognise it and stop, making time for my own self care. This is what you call progress! Haha x
What is your darkness? Accepting it is the first step and knowing it is only a story, and illusion for you to learn and get through to experience your light. Writing down your fears and your frustrations can help you bring them to the forefront and face them, as you do this you will feel all of those dark feelings but tell yourself it is only a story it is not your truth. Now, find ways to bring you into your good, joyous vibrations. This is different for everyone, I like to write or to meditate, take some deep breaths, go for a run or walk outside, dance or spend time with family or good friends. It could be that playing an instrument or drawing helps you, but I also find looking at pictures of happy times or loved ones, and reading or listening to books or songs that raise your appreciation for life can bring you back to you.
“It is okay to be at a place of struggle. Struggle is just another word for growth. Even the most evolved beings find themselves in a place of struggle now and then. In fact, struggle is a sure sign to them that they are expanding; it is their indication of real and important progress. The only one who doesn’t struggle is the one who doesn’t grow. So if you are struggling right now, see it as a terrific sign – celebrate your struggle.”
Neale Donald Walsch
love, light and health to you all,
