Happy day to you!
Life is chaotic sometimes and at these times, you really have to have easy healthy habits in place and some go to recipes. You will find lots of these on this site, but I know what it’s like. You need to have these established in the quiet times otherwise they ain’t going to happen…
I love helping people feel good and I have lost the ability to be bothered anymore if it sounds cheesy because it’s just become my life mission. I have felt so bad and so full of self-loathing I do not want anyone else to feel this way! This is why I love my job, as I get to support and teach young people every day, coordinate and write campaigns, processes and policies that effect positive change. Also, ‘PassionAte’ fulfils my love of writing and sharing, as well as being able to support beautiful women in their quest for self-love with the fun side effect of weight loss and healing. I feel lucky I have found my passion and believe me there are ways for you to find yours. Sometimes you need to say yes to a few things before it is clear, and sometimes you have to take the rough times to get to the smooth, however, if you focus on the things that give you joy, they will accumulate and become larger than the things you do not.
“What you think about, you bring about” quote by Bob Proctor
Not feeling great, going through a bad time or drained of energy? What could you do to feel good?
- Go for a walk in nature?
- Buy yourself some beautiful flowers?
- Phone or go to see a supportive friend you can laugh with?
When I am feeling drained and things are piling up, I repeat a little mantra to myself to help me change my thoughts and this is “I want to feel good” I want to feel good” until I start to say “I feel good “I feel good”.
Update on Nourish, Move, Love…
I have been extremely lucky to have been one of the facilitators of a 3 part coaching programme named Nourish, move, love, where we have incorporated Nia from Anne Cosgrove, Life coaching including setting boundaries and incorporating habits from Sarah Seed and identifying trigger foods, cravings and the meanings in addition to simple ways to heal the body with nutrition from me. The feedback has been amazing and all the ladies have enjoyed foods including power seed snacks, healthy chocolate digestives, Carrot, apple and ginger soup, spicy and roasted pepper hummus, cucumber and grape salsa, tomato chunky salsa and Quinoa tabouleh with more to come for the third and final part…
“That one habit has changed everything for me, I have stopped my medication and feel great!”
“I made nutritional changes and felt so different within a week!”
words expressed at the end of yesterday’s sessions were “Joyous”, “Inspired” “happy” “relaxed”
Minty summer soup recipe
Here is a beautiful soup inspired by my lovely friend and work colleague Alison, I absolutely love this soup and it can be changed in plenty of ways. You can add garlic, you can leave out the onions, you can add a potato to thicken, add different veggies or leave out the broccoli. Enjoy this soup hot or cold x
- half a head of broccoli florets
- 300g frozen peas
- half a red onion
- 10- 15 mint leaves
- pinch of Himalayan or sea salt
- approx 750 ml of water with 1 Kallo yeast free vegetable stock cube
* Fry off the onion in a little avocado or olive oil until softened and then add all of the rest of the ingredients with optional black pepper. Boil for 10 minutes and then blitz into a soup. Enjoy straight away or store in a fridge for up to 3 days. Enjoy cold or warm x
